How the idea for this community came about
Have you ever gone through a rough time that was made a little bit better because you knew you had the constant support of a good friend?
Not long ago, I went through an emotional time in my life that felt like rejection.
In response, one of my best friends, Shekinah, offered to text me every day and remind me of my worth.
After thinking about it, I realized there were many times in my life when something like this would have been incredibly helpful.
To have consistent reminders from someone who cared about me that my worth and validity as a human being were not changed because:
- I was socially awkward at times or
- I was worried about my appearance or
- I was concerned about what others were thinking about me or
- I tried something and “failed”
Having that validity earlier in my life could have been life-changing.
I know it could have prevented some very dark days when I thought I was useless and unloved.
When Shekinah offered to text me every day, I also realized that I no longer questioned my worth the way I used to.
I had learned to build up a strong sense of self-worth, through many different facets, that helped me weather an emotional time without too much effect on how I saw myself.
And I was so grateful for the gradual changes, community, and self-support I had implemented and experienced over time that brought me to that moment.
Right then everything clicked — and Your Daily Worth was born.
I knew that creating a safe space in the form of a supportive online community would be a way to encourage other people who deal with similar self-sabotaging mindsets.
It’s a place for working towards achieving those ideas and dreams we all have but that we keep ourselves from pursuing because we’re afraid to fail or think it’s not “for us”.
The Your Daily Worth community is designed to facilitate growth and contentment with yourself.
How, you ask?
We’ll do this by working through themed content focused on building self-worth, becoming comfortable talking about our struggles, collaborating and building relationships with like-minded people, and learning from other entrepreneurs, travelers, and people just like you who have struggled with the same thoughts.
I’m excited for this community and everything that could stem from it in the future.
And I hope you’ll help us create it.
Above all, I want you to know just how valuable you are as a human being — there’s nothing you can do to change that.
